Minesweeper Objective
The goal of Minesweeper is to locate and mark all the mines hidden under the grey squares as quickly as possible. Clicking on a square will reveal one of the following:
- A mine: Clicking it ends the game.
- A number: Indicates how many adjacent squares contain mines.
- Nothing: Shows no adjacent mines, and nearby empty squares will be revealed automatically. The first square you click is always safe, so you can start anywhere. Often, it opens up a blank area, making it easier to deduce where the mines are.
Basic Actions
- Open a square: Left-click to reveal its content.
- Mark a mine: Right-click to flag a square as a mine. A mine icon will appear on it.
- Mark with a question mark: If you're unsure, right-click twice or once on a flagged square to mark it with a question mark. This prevents accidental clicks.
- Clear marks: Right-click again to cycle through "Mine, Question Mark, Clear."
- Quick open adjacent squares: If a number square's adjacent mines are all flagged, left-clicking the number will open the remaining adjacent squares. Be cautious—wrong flags could trigger a mine!
Tips
- Use the numbers to deduce mine locations strategically.
- Mark uncertain squares with question marks to avoid mistakes.
- Master quick open to save time and speed up your game.
